The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager (Community Services) to lead and coordinate our community-based services. You will ensure high-quality, person-centred service delivery in line with SoLO’s values, policies, and strategic objectives.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will have responsibility for staff leadership, safeguarding, service delivery, compliance, and continuous improvement across Community Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Community Services to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality delivery
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for Community Services
- Line manage, support, and develop staff, ensuring compliance with training and DBS requirements
- Oversee rotas, staffing cover, referrals, and service user support plans
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, risk management, and regulatory standards
- Manage service budgets and contribute to financial reporting
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, professionals, and external partners
- Contribute to service development, audits, reporting, and strategic planning
- Participate in the on-call rota (shared basis)
About You
You will have:
- Experience working in a similar leadership or coordination role
- A good understanding of the needs of people with learning disabilities
- Strong organisational, communication, and people-management skills
- Knowledge of safeguarding, person-centred support, and confidentiality
- Confidence using IT systems including CRM databases, Excel, and Microsoft Office
- A relevant leadership/management qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
