About the Job
As a Senior IT Project Manager within the IT Business Solutions & Services Team, you hold a senior practitioner role, responsible
for the successful leadership, execution, and delivery of the most complex and strategic IT projects, specifically in cyber
security and ensuring alignment against NIST & Cyber Essentials frameworks. You will meticulously apply consistent project
methodologies, ensure timely and on-budget delivery, manage complex risks, and mentor other project managers and coordinators.
Your role is critical in aligning the outcomes of major projects with overall business objectives:
* Successful Delivery and Business Value
* Framework Alignment
* Risk and Issue Management
* Methodology and Governance
* Stakeholder Satisfaction
* Team Mentorship
* Performance and Reporting
As part of your key responsibilities you’ll cover:
* Project Planning and Definition
* Project Execution and Monitoring
* Resource Management
* Quality Assurance and Control
* Vendor and Third-Party Management
* Communication and Reporting
* Transition and Implementation Oversight
* Team Leadership and Development
About You
We’d love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you’d be able to perform well in this
role!
* Extensive experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of managing large, complex projects as well as
oversight of multiple projects
* Deep practical knowledge of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework - experience mapping existing IT controls to NIST sub-categories
and closing identified gaps
* Experience delivering enterprise-wide IT programmes (e.g., identity management overhauls, network segmentation, or EDR
deployments) specifically designed to meet compliance or regulatory requirements
* Familiarity with related standards such as ISO 27001 or SOC2 is highly desirable, with the ability to translate complex
security requirements into actionable IT projects
* Preference will be given to candidates holding certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or specific NIST CSF Practitioner training
* Proven expertise in various project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, Waterfall), with relevant certifications
(e.g., PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, CSM) highly desirable
* Strong understanding of the IT service lifecycle and experience collaborating with Solution Architecture, Product Management,
and Service Operations teams
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex dependencies
* Experience with project management tools and platforms (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project)
Our recruitment and selection process has been developed to ensure that it is consistent, fair and provides equality of
opportunity - all selection decisions are based solely on technical and behavioural competencies. We do not discriminate on the
grounds of race, colour, or nationality, ethnic or national origins, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, marital or
civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, disability, religion or belief, age or any other current or future protected
characteristic as defined in the current Equality Act of England and Wales. As an organisation we also promote an environment
which encourages diversity of characteristics and thought, where you feel included, safe and confident to be the best version of
yourself and do your best work every day.
