We are looking for an enthusiastic, clinically focused Consultant trained in Medical Microbiology to join the Microbiology team of 3.9 Consultants and 2.0 wte Specialty Doctors to be based at Northwick Park but work across the Trusts hospital sites (Northwick Park, St Marks, Ealing and Central Middlesex Hospitals). Applicants must be on the GMC Register at the time of interview. Applications from candidates who, for personal reasons, are unable to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for this post. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES To work closely with the colleagues and the Infection Control Team in the management of patients. To carry out duties assigned by senior colleagues. To ensure that the process of producing the information contained in a Pathology report is carried out to the required professional standard. To provide clinical advice to clinicians. To enable and participate in clinical audit. To participate in and contribute towards infection control matters including the Infection Control Committee meetings and Antibiotic Committee meetings and antimicrobial To participate in appropriate teaching, training, and research and development stewardship. To establish and maintain close liaison with all clinical departments within the hospital and to participate in meetings, ward rounds, audit etc as necessary to provide a high quality and effective clinical microbiology service.
