Neway International are seeking a Digital Communications Officer to join our client based with London Borough of Islington.
Location: Town Hall
Hours: 35 per week, Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00
Start Date: 09/02/2026
Pay Rate: £25.12 PAYE / £33.22 Umbrella

The Role
You will play a key part in bringing the ‘Making it Happen’ campaign to life through compelling short‑form video content. Working closely with the Communications and Campaigns team, you will plan, film, edit and publish story‑led videos that highlight real services and demonstrate how the council delivers for its residents.
Across ten weekly themes — including street cleaning and recycling, parks and leisure, community safety, new and improved homes, and support for children, young people and local businesses — you will transform briefs into engaging narratives. You will ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines, campaign messaging and accessibility standards. You will also monitor performance and recommend improvements to help achieve campaign goals.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, film, edit and publish short‑form video content for the ‘Making it Happen’ campaign
Develop engaging, on‑brand and accessible video content tailored to targeted audiences
Work across multiple locations to capture real frontline services and community stories
Optimise content for each social media platform using best practice and current trends
Track performance metrics and suggest improvements to enhance campaign impact
Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver high‑quality outputs at pace
Candidate Requirements
Experience planning, filming, editing and publishing short‑form video content
Proven ability to create engaging, accessible and on‑brand video content that reaches targeted audiences
Strong editing skills using Premiere Pro
Experience evaluating digital campaigns and measuring their impact
Knowledge of social media optimisation and platform‑specific best practice
Creative, confident storyteller with the ability to simplify complex information
Highly organised, collaborative and comfortable working across multiple locations
