What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, ambitious and motivated Geography teacher to join our vibrant Humanities faculty.

Are you looking for an opportunity to join an outstanding academy and develop your experience in a school environment? Do you want to have a genuine impact on shaping our teaching and learning culture as well as accessing Trust wide mentoring, succession planning and career development?

There is a unique energy at The Priory Ruskin Academy; we are forward thinking, aspirational and dynamic but with a genuine warmth and supportive culture. We are looking for passionate individuals with a desire to support and promote outstanding education to join Ruskin’s progressive and dynamic staff team.

This is a temporary post and would suit a newly qualified or experienced teacher. The Geography department currently consists of 6 teachers and is part of the wider Humanities faculty. The subject is delivered to all at KS3 and there is a healthy uptake who choose to study the GCSE at KS4. At KS5 students can choose to study A Level Geography.

The Humanities departments offer a number of subjects across the school including; Geography, History, RE, PSHE, Sociology, Psychology, Law, Politics and Criminology. Several of our humanities teachers will look to teach another discipline to develop themselves professionally. An openness and willingness to do this is preferred.

There are over 60 Humanities teachers in the Trust and there is a likelihood that opportunities could arise across the Trust which could be explored at the end of the contract if desired.
