Payroll Assistant

We are recruiting for an experienced Payroll Assistant to take ownership of the end-to-end payroll process for a workforce of 500+ employees. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys accuracy, structure, and being the go-to expert for payroll.

Payroll calculations are handled by an external bureau; your focus will be on managing the payroll process internally, ensuring accurate data, timely submissions, and resolving payroll-related queries.

Once fully up to speed, there will be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities beyond payroll.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the monthly payroll process for 500+ employees
* Maintain and manage the Time & Attendance (T&A) system
* Prepare and submit accurate payroll data to the external payroll bureau
* Act as the main point of contact for employee payroll queries
* Ensure payroll data relating to absence, benefits, and pensions is accurate and up to date
* Liaise with internal departments and the payroll bureau to resolve any issues
* Support ongoing improvements to payroll processes and controls

About You

* Proven experience in payroll, ideally within a medium to large organisation
* Strong Excel skills and confidence working with payroll data
* Experience of payroll
* Detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable working independently
