Crynodeb
We are looking for someone who brings calm, confidence, and good judgement to complex people issues. Someone who can balance empathy with logic, stay steady under pressure, and cut through the noise to find fair, practical solutions. You will be the person managers trust when things get tricky — someone who can listen, challenge, guide, and keep things moving in the right direction. You may even find yourself doing a bit of informal training or confidence‑building with managers who need extra support.
If you enjoy a challenge, like having real variety in your day, and want to make a genuine impact in a team where your voice truly matters, this could be a great fit.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of employee relations, including complex casework.
Support and coach managers to handle ER issues effectively, while constructively challenging where necessary.
Deliver internal training sessions to build capability and confidence in people management.
Partner with stakeholders to ensure HR practices align with organisational values and legal requirements.
Contribute to wider HR initiatives and projects as required.
About You
We are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with strong people skills:
Proven experience across the full spectrum of ER casework.
Ideally, experience of designing and delivering internal training.
A compassionate, approachable style – able to build trust and rapport with staff at all levels.
Confidence to stand up to managers who may resist advice, ensuring best practice is followed.
Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to balance empathy and authority.
Why Join Us
This is an opportunity to make a real impact, supporting both our people and our leaders to create a positive, fair, and supportive workplace culture.
Essential Requirements:
CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) in Human Resources Management or equivalent professional experience in HR/ER.
Experience managing a varied caseload, excellent communication, influencing and problem-solving skills, sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice, and the resilience, credibility, and integrity to manage challenging situations effectively.
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.
