GCIL. AG/LD/1.26 Personal Assistant for Al
Al is a warm and friendly person who is looking for someone who can help him live life to the fullest. Every day is unique, but tasks might include taking him on outings and meal preparation, as well as personal care tasks such as showering, dressing and supporting him to take his medication. Al enjoys various hobbies, including watching his favourite TV shows Still Game or Only Fools and Horses, and would love to be able to chat to someone about them!
As part of your responsibilities, you will need to work at least 1 night shift per week where you will be required to offer support during the night when needed.
You would become part of a team of PAs, so a good match would need to be a team worker and someone who values having good relationships with Al and the other PAs. Ideally, you would also have some cooking and regular household skills, as well as previous experience with providing care. Al also uses a communication book to express himself, so the right PA needs to be willing to learn how to use this with him. This role takes place in the West (G3) of Glasgow, so it’s important that you can travel to and from the area reliably. The hours of work are 36 per week, which will be worked over 3 shifts – 2 day shifts and 1 night shift. The rate of pay is £13.50 per hour.
Al is a patient person with a great sense of humour and is looking for someone who can be a positive presence in his life with a can-do attitude. If this sounds like you then we would love to hear from you!
If interested, please apply by sending your CV to par@gcil.org.uk quoting ref. AG/LD/1.26 in the subject line and body of the email.
