We are seeking an experienced Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) to join our new Outpatient Pharmacy service. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a modern, patient-focused pharmacy team delivering high-quality care.Role Overview The ACPT will play a key role in the safe and efficient running of the dispensary, ensuring compliance with GPhC standards and supporting the Outpatient Pharmacist. You will lead on accuracy checking, supervise staff, and help maintain a professional and organised environment.Key Responsibilities Dispensary Management: Supervise day-to-day operations, maintain workflow, and ensure prescriptions are dispensed and checked accurately. Accuracy Checking: Complete final checks on prescriptions, including outpatient and blister packs, ensuring legal and safety compliance. Team Leadership: Line manage pharmacy dispensers and trainees, oversee rotas, appraisals, and staff wellbeing. Compliance & Quality: Review SOPs, monitor KPIs, report incidents, and implement corrective training. Stock Control: Manage ordering, rotation, and controlled drug records; liaise with procurement to resolve shortages. Risk & Safety: Participate in risk assessments, maintain a safe working environment, and adhere to health and safety regulations.Essential Requirements Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Accredited Checking Technician qualification. Strong organisational and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and lead a team effectively. Previous experience in a pharmacy setting.
