At Jisc, we’re proud to foster a supportive and inclusive environment where every voice is valued. Our September 2026 apprenticeship programme offers a range of exciting opportunities designed to help you grow and thrive in the digital sector. Whether you're just beginning your journey or expanding on existing technical experience, we’ll provide the tools and training to help you succeed.

Your future team:

The Advice Team provides practical guidance, training, and community spaces to help organisations improve digital accessibility and inclusion. As an apprentice, you’ll gain experience in accessibility standards, assistive technologies, and inclusive design, while collaborating with experts across the Jisc Advice Team and Jisc’s Accessibility Champions staff network. This is your chance to make a real impact on accessibility and digital inclusion.

A Day in the Life of a Digital Accessibility Apprentice

Imagine starting your day researching the latest accessibility standards and best practices, then jumping into a team session to help shape training materials that empower others to create inclusive digital experiences.

You might spend time developing practical resources like checklists and guides, collaborate with designers and developers to embed accessibility from the start, and support content creators to make documents and media accessible.

Later, you could engage with real users of assistive technology, gathering feedback to improve digital experiences, or help run our Accessibility Champions programme. You’ll get feel for supporting projects, meetings, and even high-level policy engagement events.

Who we’re looking for:
• Passionate about accessibility and eager to learn more about assistive technologies.
• Customer-focused, with experience delivering positive experiences.
• Tech-savvy, confident using Microsoft Office and digital tools.
• Motivated, empathetic, and proactive, willing to advocate for accessibility and raise issues constructively.
• Curious and innovative, keen to explore new digital solutions for inclusion.
• Organised and adaptable, with strong time management skills.
• Collaborative and confident, able to work across teams and ask questions to fill knowledge gaps.
