Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing to join our dynamic and supportive team within the School of Nursing, Midwifery, Allied and Public Health.
You will play a key role in preparing the next generation of mental health nurses, contributing to the delivery of high-quality education across our undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes. You’ll bring your passion for person-centred, recovery-focused care and help students develop the knowledge, values and skills essential for contemporary nursing practice.
This role offers the opportunity to combine teaching, academic scholarship and practice-based education within a university deeply committed to improving health outcomes and promoting mental wellbeing in our communities.
You will be a registered mental health nurse (NMC) with significant clinical and/or teaching experience. You’ll bring a strong commitment to student learning and an ability to inspire and support learners from diverse backgrounds.
We would be particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in drug and alcohol services or family therapy.
Essential requirements include:
NMC registration as a Mental Health Nurse
Undergraduate Honours Degree in a Nursing related subject
Evidence of ongoing professional development
Desirable attributes:
Master’s degree or higher (or willingness to work towards)
Postgraduate teaching qualification or Fellowship of Advance HE
Experience in teaching, assessment, or practice education
Interest in research, quality improvement, or innovation in mental health care.
How will you work?

Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the service being delivered and to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that the majority of your working time will be spent on campus.
