Contract: Initial Contract until March 2026
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid Work Pattern)
Hays are working in partnership with a local council to recruit a Project Support Officer with a strong background in data research. This role will involve supporting strategic development, data analysis, and grant/external funding planning officers to support the development of the City's Employment and Skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Principal Project Manager - Strategy (Employment & Skills) in developing a collective employment and skills strategy across all council directorates.
- Coordinate and collate responses from multiple stakeholders, producing a comprehensive strategy and implementation plan.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners to ensure the strategy is city-wide and inclusive.
- Take ownership of specific programme work streams and deliver tasks as directed by the programme manager.
- Network and engage with stakeholders to strengthen collaboration.
- Identify external funding and grant opportunities to support projects and council services within the employment and skills sector.
- Work collaboratively across departments to develop proposals and secure funding.
- Prepare and submit funding applications, ensuring partnerships are in place to maximise success.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and workstreams simultaneously.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership development.
- Knowledge of funding streams and grant application processes (desirable).
- Graduate-level education or equivalent experience.
