Summary
To a lady in Irvine area.
1 post 10hrs per week (additional hours for respite also)
Hours mainly Mon-Fri but weekends and over nights may be required
Salary
£13.73 per hr , wages are paid 4 weekly in arrears by a payroll service.
Annual Leave
5.6 weeks paid Annual leave pro rata for contracted staff
Job Purpose
Will initially be to support the young lady within the home with the hope that once relationship has been built up, they can look at arranging social outings.
She likes things like playing simple games and especially enjoys target games, loves her iPad and researching simple topics, watching films and relaxing, enjoys being in her garden, has a great sense of humour.
Employer
You will be employed by the personal employer, who will be assisted to administer payroll and undertake the necessary employment support responsibilities by a relevant support organisation.
Probationary period
There is a 6 month probationary period attached to the post
Successful applicant will have to undergo a new or update of the PVG disclosure scheme and supply 2 up to date reference contacts prior to appointment
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Being flexible is a key component to this job and you will be guided by the employer about the particular activities she wants to participate in at particular times and you are expected to support her choices.
may be required to work afternoons and the odd morning/evening.
Training (will be provided)
Epilepsy medication training (epilepsy is more transient spells but is well controlled by medication)

Demonstrable experience of supporting people to fulfil their potential and have active lives.
Relevant qualification(s).
Knowledge & Skills
An understanding of how to support and facilitate in a way that empowers the person.
Good interpersonal skills and values reflecting social inclusion.

Excellent listening skills.
Good organisational skills.
Working knowledge of good person-centred practice.
Previous experience supporting disabled people
Experience
Previous experience in care is required
Can draw on lived experience of positively supporting someone as a peer or similar

Have supported people to achieve positive outcomes in their life.
