At Saint Mary’s Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust our success starts with you.

We want you to come to Saint Mary's and stay at Saint Mary's because our success starts with you. All of our staff have been involved in developing our Nursing and Midwifery Values. We believe that they make Saint Mary's a better place for patients and staff. If you have the passion to provide kind, safe and excellent care we can offer you a great place to work and develop your career. We are focused on improving quality: for our patients, their carers/families and for our staff.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced midwife to join our team as Team Leader within the Community Midwifery Team on the North Manchester Site.

Maternity services at Saint Mary's Managed Clinical Service provide women living in Manchester, Trafford, Salford, the North West and beyond with primary, secondary and tertiary obstetric services. Saint Mary's is renowned both regionally and nationally for its research, clinical fetal and maternal medicine services. Saint Mary's has a very varied and complex patient population.

You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a driving passion and determination to support the senior midwifery team in line with the exciting national picture of care and compassion, the implementation of continuity of care, as well as a local picture of quality improvement. The successful candidate will need to have good knowledge and skill base of both midwifery clinical practice and local leadership.

In this role you will manage a team of midwives and develop practice as a midwifery expert; providing advice to colleagues in the organisation and working in partnership with a range of other agencies. You will work closely with the Matrons and Lead Midwives and will have access to a bespoke development plan.

You will be resilient and able to manage complex situations as well as being well organised and innovative. A proven track record of supporting change processes, coupled with good influencing and negotiation skills are key attributes required for this post in order to provide an integrated and effective service focusing on the delivery and assurance of safe, high quality patient care across our services. If you choose this role then we will commit to supporting your on-going personal and professional development, including the opportunity to maintain your clinical role within the clinical setting.
