Storeperson / Labourer
Location: Oban (with travel to other UK Search & Rescue bases)
Contract: Seasonal
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday
We are seeking a Storeperson / Labourer to support a UK Search and Rescue (UKSAR) Seasonal Base in Oban. The base operates from April to October, and the role will be based in Oban before, during, and after the season to support base setup, operations, and shutdown, including security and mandatory testing.
Outside of the operational season, the role will support other UKSAR bases, providing cover for leave or absence, assisting with stock checks, and completing remote Goods In inspections. Travel is required as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Storeperson
Open and close stores at the seasonal base and ensure operational readiness.
Act as base caretaker during the off-season, maintaining facilities and security.
Manage aircraft and non-aircraft stores, including stock control, booking parts in/out, packing, and shipping.
Maintain accurate stock records and support stock checks.
Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
Maintain cleanliness of the hangar and maintenance areas.
Drive company vehicles for deliveries and collections.
Clean aircraft once trained and authorised.
Assist with towing and positioning aircraft as required.
Undertake additional duties as directed by the Chief Engineer.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Full driving licence
Forklift licence desirable
Skills & Experience
SAP experience advantageous
Knowledge of dangerous goods handling preferred
Computer literate with Microsoft Office skills
Intermediate Excel skills desirable
