We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in industrial services to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ relevant experience and ideally have worked in a similar company—particularly one specialising in rope access, steeplejack, or other specialist industrial access methods.
This role is central to our commercial operations, supporting accurate and competitive tendering, client engagement, and pre‑contract planning.
Role Summary
As an Estimator at Zenith, your primary responsibilities will include:
Preparing and submitting detailed quotes and estimates for industrial access and repair projects
Arranging and attending site visits with clients and internal teams
Following up with clients post‑submission to assess likelihood of win and update internal forecasting systems
Participating in tender presentations to clients, supporting communication of technical and pricing strategies
Liaising with the supply chain to request pricing and negotiate discounts at the pre‑contract stage
Supporting commercial and contract teams with valuations and pricing strategies
Supporting the commercial handover process by ensuring all pricing and procurement details are accurately transferred to delivery teams
Maintaining accurate records and contributing to cashflow forecasting and bid tracking
Skills and Personal Qualities
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and internal teams
Proven experience in estimating for industrial or construction projects, ideally involving rope access or steeplejack methods
Commercial awareness and the ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings
Highly organised and methodical, with strong attention to detail
Self‑motivated and able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other estimating systems
Proficient in Microsoft Project and other project planning tools
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Estimator role within industrial services, construction, or engineering
Experience working for a company with rope access, scaffolding, or specialist access capabilities is highly desirable
Full UK driving licence
CSCS card preferred
