Job description:Workchain are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Transportation and Yard Supervisor to oversee logistics operations.The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing transportation activities, ensuring efficient delivery of goods, and maintaining high standards of customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, computer literacy, and the ability to manage a team effectively within a fast-paced environment. this role will involve working for 50.5 hours a week , Saturday and Sunday half day every other week.Overtime availableThis role will involve a hands on approach and supervision outdoors ref loading and unloading of vehicles and additional yard duties.Responsibilities- Supervise daily transportation operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.- Manage and coordinate logistics activities, including route planning and scheduling.- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities using computer systems, including Excel and Outlook.- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the transportation department.Requirements- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the transportation or logistics sector.- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English.- Proficient in computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.-- .- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating leadership qualities.- A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on achieving operational excellence.Rotating shift pattern- week 1: 05:00 / 06:00 - 14:00, Week 2: 11:00am until 19:00pmINDNNHGVJob Type: Temp to permPay: From £37,500.00 per year
