The organisation has won multiple awards and has exciting plans to double in size over the next few years, so now is a genuinely exciting time to join them.
Your new role
The Procurement Policy Manager will have overall responsibility for the Company's procurement processes and policies, whilst having direct line management responsibility for one Category Buying Specialist. The company operates a decentralised procurement set-up, so a large part of your role will be providing strategic procurement guidance to Heads of Department and senior stakeholders across the organisation, as well as focusing on procurement governance, control of the procurement function, and supplier relationship management. As Procurement Policy Manager, part of your role will also involve ensuring that the organisation has a contract management process which is compliant and fit-for-purpose.
You will work closely with support services, external suppliers and contractors to optimise the organisation's procurement processes, mitigate risk and drive value through procurement.
**Please note that this role has limited involvement in day-to-day tendering activity - this is more focused on supplier governance, supplier relationship management and procurement process optimisation**
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous procurement experience ideally within the public or not-for-profit sector
- Excellent supplier relationship management skills
- A confident communicator with the ability to naturally build rapport
- Experience in procurement governance and procurement process control
- Commercial mindset
- Ability to manage / lead a small team (this role will be managing 1 person)
- Ideally, you will be minimum CIPS Level 4 qualified
What you'll get in return
- Starting salary between £38,000 - £43,000 depending on relevant experience
- Option to work just 4 days a week (37.5 hours spread across 4 days), so you can enjoy either a Monday or a Friday off!
- Hybrid working policy which allows 3-4 days per week working from home
- 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
- Flexible working hours
- Access to retail discounts, holiday discounts, travel discounts and cycle to work scheme
- Make a difference - you will be joining a non-profit organisation whose work genuinely changes peoples' lives for the better, and you can play a key role in this!
