About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with an EHCP whose main difficulties are SEMH. You will be passionate about working with children and ideally have SEND experience. The role will involve supporting the pupil to develop social relationships, access whole class learning, develop an understanding of emotional literacy and regulation, and work with the pupil individually to meet EHCP outcomes. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo.

• be someone with a keen interest in working with children and a commitment to inclusion
• have an understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities and how a teaching assistant supports students in their learning
• be able to engage students and manage behaviour on a one to one or small group basis
• be committed to work with external agencies such as Behaviour Support Service
• be committed to training such as Trauma Informed Practice and Emotional Coaching
• have strong interpersonal skills, in particular with the ability to demonstrate empathy and active listening
• have good planning and organisational skills, specifically with regard to learning activities and support materials
