Crynodeb
Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care for children attending Childrens Outpatient Department, Paediatric Medical Day Unit and Surgical Day Unit (Dental, General Surgery, ENT, Oncology, Rheumatology, Endocrine, and more). Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in partnership with children and families. Demonstrate technical and/or practical skills to ensure optimum patient care management including patient observations; equipment management and administration of agreed invasive tests/procedures. Utilise and ensure others utilise information and IT systems to secure accurate and timely patient, workforce and resource data. Manage expected clinical events/enquiries, requiring high but unpredictable levels of physical effort, ensuring referral to a senior member of staff where appropriate e.g. in an unexpected event. Support patients, carers and others during difficult situations arising in the clinical area, e.g. imparting bad news or following an unexpected event. Support and mentor junior staff and learners. Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and the wider team, including in challenging or sensitive situations. Maintain a safe, clean environment, adhering to infection control and Trust standards. Participate in service improvement, audits, and training programmes.
