A fulfilling and exciting opportunity available for an Income and Rent Arrears Recovery Officer to join our Association. The Income and Rent Arrears Recovery Officer will be based in our offices in Birmingham.

Purpose of the role

To lead organisation-wide rent arrears recovery efforts, managing complex debt cases, supporting policy adherence, embedding social and financial support initiatives, and leveraging real-time data for proactive management.

The role also supports asset management strategies, resolves long-standing aged debts, and works collaboratively across teams and external agencies to maximise income, reduce liabilities, and sustain tenancies. Furthermore, the role involves legal casework, tenancy enforcement and representing the organisation in court proceedings, ensuring compliance and effective tenancy management.

The post holder will enable the delivery of tailored advice and support to our Tenants, Residents and Service Users (TRS) as well as training staff involved in tenancy enforcement activities.

In summary, the post holder will combine technical expertise in legal matters relating to income management with strong interpersonal skills, debt recovery management and a commitment to organisational values, ensuring they can uphold compliance, support tenancy sustainment, and contribute positively to the organisation’s mission.
