Summary
We are a regional Gastroenterology centre, recognised as having an excellent reputation for delivering clinical research programmes. We are based at the RVI but also cover the Freeman Hospital. We see patients throughout the Trust in areas such as outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, endoscopy units, day case infusion units and the clinical research facility, providing a great opportunity for collaborative working across the NUTH site in each department. Applications are welcomed from a registered adult nurse who has post registration experience working within Gastroenterology, in specialty areas and/or the clinical research delivery landscape. We are looking to appoint an individual who has excellent communication and organisational skills, with effective time management and good IT skills. Someone with the ability to multi-task, has knowledge of data collection systems and has meticulous attention to detail and can work proactively and cohesively within this small friendly team. The successful candidate will be provided with a full induction programme and ongoing support and will have the opportunity to facilitate the delivery of research studies within the Gastroenterology speciality. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a research team that is successfully embedded within the Gastroenterology department. We are looking for an enthusiastic person whois able to: Ensure the provision of safe and effective patient care. Support theteamto ensure environmental standards and cleanliness aremaintainedin line with national and Trust Standards. Support and contribute to the delivery of research participant care and nursing practice within the team and contributing to Trust projects and wider research delivery projects whererequired. To initiate and manage nursing activities related to academic studies and clinical trials, from initiation to termination Support the development of junior staff and students ensuringappropriate supervisionand assessment is available. Lead on clinicaltrials whilstmaintaininga high standard of care andhavethe skills such asvenepuncture, cannulation, ECG orbewilling to obtain these skills. Be responsible forthe safe custody of medication, including checking and administration. Ensure compliance with NUTH policies and procedures and adhere totheClinical Governance framework, ICH &Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
