Details of the post On Call Commitments There are several on call tiers to cover the out of hours service: 1. General on call: 1:19 covering the emergency theatre with a resident CT2 or above 2. Obstetric on call: 1:13 covering the maternity unit at Heartlands with a ST 3 or above 3. Solihull EPOC on call: 1:10 with at ST 3 or above 4. Thoracic on call: 1:8 covering thoracic emergencies at the QE and providing a second pair of hands to Heartlands Hospital 5. Good Hope on call: 1:13 covering the emergency theatre with a resident CT1 or above and the maternity unit with a Resident doctor St3 and above 6. There is also an intensivist on call for Heartlands and one for Good Hope. On - call commitments for these post are to either The General on - call rota on the Heartlands Emergency theatre (The emergency service sees a large number of general, vascular and urology cases per year.) Paediatric cases over the age of 2 are also cared for. The Obstetric on call rota at Heartlands (obstetric special interest and training). The Good Hope Hospital where the on call consultant covers both Obstetrics and emergency theatres.
