Position: Support Worker
Salary: £13.00 hourly rate (approx. £25,688 per annum) + additional benefits including quarterly performance related bonuses
Hours: Monday-Friday (9am-5pm with an element of flexible working and some later starts and finishes required)
Job Type: Full-time – Permanent
Make a real difference in the lives of young people preparing for independence.
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our friendly and dedicated team in Hereford. You will play a vital role in supporting care experienced young people aged 16–24 in developing their independence skills, as they transition into adulthood and independent living and to manage their own accommodation.
As a Support Worker, you will:
Provide practical and emotional support to young people living in semi-independent accommodation
Help young people develop the skills needed to live independently, including budgeting, cooking, household management, and accessing education or employment opportunities
Support young people to understand and manage their tenancy, maintain a safe home environment, and build positive routines
Work collaboratively as part of a small, supportive team, ensuring consistent and person-centred support
Maintain clear records, risk assessments, and support plans
Promote young people’s well-being, confidence, and opportunities to thrive
We’d love to hear from you if you are:
Passionate about helping young people build brighter futures
Patient, resilient, and able to build trusting relationships
A strong communicator with good organisational skills
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Comfortable working flexible hours, including some evenings and occasional weekends
Experienced in social care, youth work, housing support, or similar (full induction, training and probationary period provided)
Committed to professional development and keen to work towards a level 3 NVQ in Health & Social Care (children & young people) or equivalent qualification, if not already held.
Able to drive and hold a UK driving licence (preferred)
Enhanced DBS check (Essential)
