Summary
SEN Learning Support Assistant - Feb 2026 Start
Location: Various Primary & Secondary Schools across Somerset
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30 (Paid for 6.5 hours per day)
Pay: £14.66 - £16.00 per hour (PAYE or Umbrella options available)
Start Date: Feb 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Prospero Teaching is recruiting for SEN Learning Support Assistants across both primary and secondary schools for the upcoming term. We are inviting passionate, dedicated, and experienced individuals to apply now and secure a role for a term 4 start.
Role Overview:
As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs (SEN)
Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Support students with emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction
Assist with classroom activities and promote independence
✅ Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD)
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
