Summary
We are recruiting for a Clinical Nurse Specialist-IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
This role requires an enthusiastic nurse with a sound knowledge of gastroenterology nursing and a commitment to provide best patient care. Knowledge and understanding of the types Inflammatory Bowel Disease and its symptoms is essential.
The post holder will be expected to provide support and advice to our large cohort of IBD patients both face to face and over the telephone. You will work autonomously leading and managing a case load of patients providing diagnosis, care planning, treatment, follow-up and continuity of care. The role encompasses the four pillars of advanced practice, clinical practice and leadership, facilitation of education/learning and evidence research and development.

The post holder will be accountable for the line management of nursing staff, enabling the department to provide the highest standards of care.
Promote high standards of professional practice and the delivery of quality care within the corporate policies, protocols and guidelines.
Provide effective leadership and work seamlessly across the MDT, communicating complex patient needs.
Managing the infusion service and understanding the role of advanced therapies both as homecare and in-patient.
Demonstrate leadership attributes by undertaking nurse-led clinics, service development, attending management meetings, liaising with the wider teams and providing support for other members of the team.
To work autonomously and be a role model to others, to work within competence and show eagerness to develop the service by taking part in audit’s, writing policies and attending/presenting at IBD meetings.
