Crynodeb
Do you have the imagination to turn a rainy afternoon and a pile of cardboard boxes into a space adventure?
Are you ready to trade sitting at a desk for a career that keeps you active, engaged, and constantly moving?
Can you provide the safe, nurturing environment a four-year-old needs to take their very first steps into education?
If you answered "yes," you belong in the Early Years. Randstad Education is currently scouting for passionate and high-energy EYFS Teaching Assistants to support Nursery and Reception classes across Leeds.
The first year of school is the most important year of a child's life. Our partner schools need dedicated staff who understand the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and know that "play" is actually serious work. Whether you are a qualified Nursery Nurse looking for school hours, or a creative individual with a passion for child development, we have a classroom waiting for you.
The RoleIn Early Years, you are not just a Teaching Assistant; you are a play partner, a carer, and a role model.
-
Continuous Provision: Facilitating learning through play in the messy area, the reading corner, and the outdoor mud kitchen, regardless of the Leeds weather!
-
Personal Care: Supporting young children with hygiene, toileting, and snack times with sensitivity and dignity.
-
Observations: capturing "wow moments" (using tablets/apps like Tapestry) to track student progress against the Early Learning Goals.
-
Phonics: Leading small "carpet time" sessions to introduce Phase 1 and Phase 2 sounds to eager learners.
-
Work Near You: We cover the whole of Leeds. Whether you rely on public transport in the city centre or drive to the suburbs, we aim to match you with local schools.
-
Weekly Pay (PAYE): We pay every Friday via our in-house payroll. No umbrella companies means you keep 100% of your earnings after standard tax.
-
The App: Our staffing app puts you in the driver's seat. Accept shifts, update your availability, and plan your week from your smartphone.
-
Flexibility: Ideal for parents or students, work 2 days a week or 5, purely around your own schedule.
-
Qualification: A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years is highly desirable, though we welcome applicants with significant practical experience.
-
Knowledge: A solid understanding of the EYFS framework and Safeguarding procedures.
-
Vetting: A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for one immediately).
-
Energy: You must be physically active and willing to get stuck in, this is not a role for sitting down!
If you are ready to help the youngest children in Leeds build the foundations for a lifetime of learning, please apply today.
