Assistant Biomass Maintenance Technician

Location: Central Belt
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 7am - 5pm, Monday to Friday

The Opportunity

An industry-leading provider of biomass boiler systems and commercial energy solutions is looking to expand its Central Scotland Services & Maintenance Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join a growing team, gain hands-on experience, and develop into a fully qualified Biomass Service Engineer.

The company designs, develops, and delivers innovative offsite-prefabricated building service solutions across the UK and Europe. They offer full operation and maintenance packages for all systems, ensuring clients receive reliable, sustainable, and high-performing solutions.

The Role

This is a field-based, door-to-door role. You will travel between client sites across Glasgow and Edinburgh, supporting the daily operations of the maintenance team. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided, making travel straightforward. Full product-specific training will be given, so prior specialist experience is not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out monthly visual inspections and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks on biomass heating plants

  • Assist engineers with annual maintenance tasks, including boiler servicing and fuel store cleaning

  • Keep fuel stores and energy centres clean, tidy, and safe

  • Record all site visits using an electronic workflow management system

  • Travel to multiple sites daily, including ash removal from biomass boilers (training provided)

  • Maintain the Paisley office and engineer store, including stock receipt and issuing parts

Skills & Experience Required
  • Clean driving license (essential for a field-based role)

  • Previous experience in a relevant maintenance or M&E role is beneficial

  • Ability to work independently and manage your daily schedule

  • Logical, practical, and hands-on approach to tasks

  • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills

  • Fluency in written and spoken English

What's In It for You?

On offer is a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Full in-house training and career development opportunities

  • Competitive pension scheme

  • Life assurance and health cash plan

  • Free annual health check

  • 30 days annual leave, increasing with service

  • Social events and a supportive team environment

  • Secure free onsite parking

  • Complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and fruit daily

  • Company vehicle and fuel card provided for all site travel
