Crynodeb
CYPMH East is part of the Children and Young Peoples Mental Health provision within Lancashire and South Cumbria Foundation Trust. East Lancashire Child and Adolescent Service (ELCAS) and Children and Young Peoples Psychology Service (CYPPS) recently merged (October 1st 2025) to become CYPMH East. This is an exciting time of service development as this has brought about a single point of access for NHS childrens mental health within East Lancashire. It has brought together two disciplines within significant experience and a wide range of skills and so it is an exciting time for practitioners and patients within the Service. CYPMH East has a range of mental health provision including a Primary Mental Health Team, Mental Health Support Teams across the localities, three Complex Sector Teams, and a Day Unit. We are a consultant led Service and we emphasise the strength of working in a multi-disciplinary way. Our main base is at Burnley General Hospital. There is a specific focus on developing more access to helping and improving the general culture of emotional support within East Lancashire. At CYPMH East our vision is to be a centre of excellence providing high quality Child and Adolescent psychological and mental health services that exceed people's expectations. This vision is being delivered. We have been accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Quality Network for Community CAMHS (QNCC) since 2016 and rated Outstanding with the CQC.
