We are seeking a capable and efficient individual who is suited to working in a closely knit team environment, but also able to operate on their own with minimal instruction. The post is full time and predominantly office based, but the company maintains a flexible and hybrid working policy.
The company is based in Eckington in north east of Derbyshire, a central location that affords access across the UK. The applicant should be willing and able to attend site visits and meetings across the UK. A valid driving licence is therefore essential.
We are seeking applicants with a wide-ranging skill set, including but not limited to:-
• Ability to undertake planning policy research and analysis.
• Ability to review and analyse on line resources to understand environmental and geological settings of a given development site.
• Familiarity with dealing with the preparation and submission of planning applications and preferably experience in determination of the same.
• Knowledge of real estate management including understanding of leases, licenses and other forms of agreement.
• Experience in valuations preferred but not essential.
• Experience or willingness to learn AutoCAD or other plan drafting software.

The successful applicant should:
• Be a Chartered Surveyor and or a Chartered Planner or should be willing to work towards gaining such professional qualifications.
• Ideally should have a planning or environmental sciences or similar education based degree.
• Ideally have experience in planning and estates management matters (and/or renewable energy) but this is not essential.
• Be able to adhere to timescales maintaining a high standard throughout.
• Have good communication skills both written and verbal.
• Have a client focussed mindset with an attitude to deliver benefits in all aspects of property management, and excellent attitude to customer service.
• Have the ability to operate with a range of clients and stakeholders from multinational companies to sole worker enterprises.
• Have good problem solving skills and a mindset to make and implement decisions to meet project goals.

Working for David L Walker offers the following benefits:
• Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
• Attractive benefits package and flexibility on annual leave allowance, private healthcare and contributory pension scheme.
• Defined career path and support with pathway to Chartership (if necessary).
• Support to access training for Continued Professional Development, including access to a range of professional bodies.
• Opportunity to become responsible for a range of projects across the UK including nationally significant developments.
• A relaxed and friendly working environment with a strong work ethic based on team working and mutual support.
