Summary
Our client is recruiting for an experienced Category Manager to lead the marketing and sales performance of a dynamic product portfolio. The portfolio will evolve in line with supply windows, market demand, and new product development, offering an exciting and varied role within a fast-moving environment.
You will play a key role in shaping category strategy, driving growth, and working cross-functionally to deliver innovative, market-led solutions for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the marketing and sales performance of an assigned product portfolio, ensuring category objectives set by your line manager are achieved
Monitor and analyse market, consumer, food, and demographic trends using a range of data sources
Develop and implement category strategies based on robust market insight
Lead and participate in regular category reviews with customers, presenting insights, recommendations, and opportunities
Recommend and support initiatives across:
New Product Development (NPD)
Promotions
Merchandising
Collaborate closely with Sales, Development, Marketing, Technical, and Production teams to deliver category plans
Identify, develop, and manage new product opportunities for both existing and new markets, following the company’s NPD process
Deliver agreed sales targets and Gross Trade Profit for your category
Grow existing customer relationships and develop new business opportunities to increase market share
Agree qualitative and quantitative category objectives with your line manager
Provide support to other categories and departments when required
About You
Strong commercial and analytical skills with a passion for category management
Confident presenting insights and recommendations to customers
Experienced in using market and consumer data to drive decisions
A collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally
Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
