Cadarn Housing Group is the parent of the Group and provides oversight and support services role. Newydd Housing Association is a charitable housing association, that offers nearly 3,000 affordable homes for rent and sale to people where need is at its greatest in Mid and South Wales, working in several local authority areas. Cadwyn Housing Association owns and manages 3,000 homes for affordable rent and low-cost home ownership as well as a range of community regeneration initiatives.
About the role
We are looking for a proactive and positive Electrical Supervisor who can lead an electrical team in both a supervisory role and an operational role; you will be our Qualifying Supervisor for compliance and certification, whilst also being hands on to complete technical work for busy times and complex cases.
As Electrical Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and compliant delivery of all electrical works across the organisation. This includes planned electrical upgrades, compliance testing (EICRs, EIC, MEIWC, Smoke Alarms etc.), and responsive repairs.
Reporting to our M&E Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day delivery of our services, and you will contribute to the commercial viability of our work, whilst ensuring service demands and quality assurance are always met.
About you
You should hold a Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation or equivalent, along with a current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification. You should have previous experience of acting as a Qualified Supervisor for NICEIC or similar, with a strong knowledge of electrical compliance and NICEIC certification processes, specifically in domestic settings.
You will be a role model for your people and be able to motivate and develop a high performing team. This is a demanding and challenging role, and you should enjoy working effectively under your own initiative and managing a busy workload, whilst also being a team player. You will be required to join the on-call manager rota (1 in 12 weeks) to support our out-of-hours service for emergency repairs. You will receive a standby allowance and on call payments for this.
