Neway International are seeking a Team Leader – Safeguarding to join our client based with Achieving for Children in Kingston & Richmond.

Location: 44 York Street
Hours: 36 per week

Start Date: 26 January 2026
Rate: PAYE £33.89 per hour / Ltd/Umbrella £44.60 per hour

About the Client
Achieving for Children provides high‑quality social care and safeguarding services across Kingston and Richmond. Their Safeguarding Teams work to protect vulnerable children, ensure timely interventions, and support families through complex and challenging circumstances.

The Role
The Team Leader will oversee safeguarding practice within the service, providing leadership, professional oversight, and decision‑making support to Social Workers managing complex cases. This is a frontline management role requiring strong safeguarding expertise, the ability to manage risk, and confidence in guiding staff through high‑pressure situations.

You will ensure that statutory responsibilities are met, quality standards are upheld, and children receive timely, effective interventions.

Key Responsibilities
Leading and supporting a team of Social Workers within the Safeguarding service.

Providing professional guidance, oversight, and decision‑making on complex cases.

Managing staff performance, supervision, and reflective practice.

Ensuring safeguarding procedures and statutory requirements are followed.

Overseeing workflow, prioritising risk, and ensuring timely responses.

Liaising with multi‑agency partners to coordinate safeguarding activity.

Maintaining high standards of documentation, assessment, and case management.

Supporting the development of effective, resilient, and collaborative team culture.

Candidate Requirements
Degree/Diploma in Social Work or equivalent.

Registration with Social Work England.

Strong safeguarding experience within children’s social care.

Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex situations.

Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.

Ability to work independently and meet challenging deadlines.

Enhanced DBS (Child) required.
