The Role – Business Development Manager

This role offers the opportunity to shape the company’s future pipeline and play a key part in strategic growth.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, expanding client relationships, and supporting the company’s growth across civil engineering and M&E projects. The role requires a proactive, commercially minded individual with a strong network and proven track record in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across rail, airports, energy, and wider infrastructure sectors
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders
Lead tendering and bid activity in collaboration with internal teams
Attend client meetings, industry events, and site visits to promote the company’s capabilities
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities
Work closely with Project Managers, Commercial, Operations, and Engineering teams to align business development strategy with delivery capability
Prepare proposals, presentations, and commercial documentation
Contribute to long‑term business planning and revenue forecasting
Represent the company professionally and consistently across all interactions
The Right Person

Minimum 5 years’ proven experience as a Business Development Manager in the construction industry
Experience within the energy sector or commercial construction is highly desirable
Demonstrable track record of winning work and growing accounts
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied workload
Strategic thinker with a proactive, solutions‑focused approach
Willingness to travel nationwide as required
Able to commute to head office in Luton as and when required for meetings
