The Role
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and inspiring Sports Coach with skills in football, tennis, and basketball to deliver high-quality, inclusive sessions for young people. This role is ideal for someone who believes in the power of sport to change lives and who can engage, motivate, and positively influence young people from diverse backgrounds.
Role Purpose
To plan and deliver engaging sports sessions, specifically football, tennis and basketball, that promote physical fitness, teamwork, confidence, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver structured and engaging sessions in football, tennis, fitness and basketball for young people of varying abilities
Plan fun, inclusive, and development-focused activities that encourage participation and skill progression
Use sport as a tool to improve confidence, communication, teamwork, and overall wellbeing
Manage group behaviour positively, maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
Act as a positive role model, building trust and motivating young people to achieve their potential
Ensure equipment is used safely and maintained to a high standard
Record attendance and share relevant updates or concerns with the Reflecteen team
Support the wider Reflecteen programme, including events, mentoring, and outreach activities where required
Uphold safeguarding policies and contribute to a safe environment for all participants
Person Specification
Essential
Coaching experience (professional or accredited)
Ability to confidently deliver sessions across all three sports, or a willingness to develop skills across them
Proven experience working with children or young people in a sports or physical activity setting
Strong communication and behaviour-management skills
Ability to motivate, encourage, and build positive relationships with young people
Reliable, organised, and committed to delivering high-quality sessions
Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Desirable
Recognised coaching qualifications, such as:
FA Level 1/2 or UEFA C (Football)
Tennis Coaching Qualification
Basketball England Coaching Award
First Aid certification
Experience working with young people with SEND or social/emotional needs
Youth work, mentoring, or outreach experience
Safeguarding
