Job Description:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Worker's who have experience supporting young people. This role involves working in a school.
Hours: 08.45am - 3.15pm - Monday to Friday (Agency - Hours to suit you)
The ideal candidate will need to have previous experience supporting young people who have a diagnosis of Learning Disabilities & Autism.
You would play a crucial role in providing assistance and support to the young people, ensuring their well-being and personal development. This position requires a proactive individual who can effectively communicate & work on own initiative.
Pay Rates: £13.20 per hour
You must hold a valid Enhanced Child & Adult DBS which is on the DBS update service.
Role:
- Supporting young people aged 10-19 years in a school environment.
- Providing direct support to the young people to enable them to engage in the school day.
- Following individual care plans, ensuring that each young person's unique requirements are met.
- Engaging in school activities, as directed, that promotes the physical, emotional, and social development of young people.
- Maintaining clear and effective communication with the young people and other staff/teachers.
- Completing all relevant documentation as required.
Experience
- Previous experience working with young people with disabilities is essential.
- Experience of supporting with Learning Disabilities & Autism.
- Some knowledge of supporting with epilepsy would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support or a similar understanding of managing behaviours of concern.
- Understanding individual needs and behaviours.
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
