About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our outstanding Children Care Leavers team as an Extended Personal Advisor
We work with looked after children and care leavers up to the age of 25, and the role of the Personal Advisor is key to building long-lasting relationships with our care leavers as they take their steps into adulthood and independence.
In Leicestershire we pride ourselves on relationship-based practice and striving for excellence, as an Extended Personal Advisor you will be able build meaningful relationships and create real change with our Care Leavers.

A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
About You
To apply for this post, you must have/be:
- Relevant paid or unpaid experience of working with young people and/or care leavers within a social care setting or similar.
- Experience in providing targeted care and support for young people with complex needs and of working with a range of professionals and challenge decision making, to ensure good outcomes for young people
- Able to organise and prioritise a busy caseload with competing demands including a good working knowledge of IT and using data systems
- Able to analyse information to reach sound decisions, often under pressure, and take responsibility for their outcome and regular reporting to the Team manager.
- Essential valid driving license and access to own vehicle with the ability to drive varied distances, including motorway driving
- NNEB/BTEC/NVQ level 3 in relevant child care subject
- Knowledge of legislation, policy and guidance that relates to care leavers and how this can be used to ensure that their voices are heard and to improve their life chances.
You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equal opportunities, and the ability to apply this to all situations
