Summary
Role Summary – SEND Project Lead
Lead and deliver social care and SEND-related improvement projects that improve outcomes for children, young people, and families.
Work closely with internal teams, partners, and families to design and implement meaningful change.
Use data, evidence, and feedback to shape services and measure impact.
Manage project plans, risks, resources, budgets, and reporting across short- and long-term timelines.
Support the Families First strategy and help embed sustainable improvements into everyday practice.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership on service quality, performance, and continuous improvement.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including families, professionals, and senior leaders.
Ensure safeguarding, risk management, and quality assurance standards are met.
Line manage staff and support development through supervision and performance management.
Build strong partnerships across agencies to improve joined-up working.
Person Profile
Strong leadership and project management experience within children’s or social care services.
Good understanding of safeguarding, legislation,
and performance standards in children’s services.
Ability to manage change, improve services, and work under pressure.
Confident communicator who can write reports, present information, and influence others.
Committed to equality, diversity, safeguarding, and improving outcomes for children and families.

Experience managing services, projects, budgets, and resources effectively.
Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and partner organisations.
Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
