About the Role

Working in a fast paced, busy team your main role will be to support Lawyers with Child Protection work, including PLO pre-proceedings and Care Proceedings cases. You will also have conduct of your own caseload of private law cases where the Court requires information from the Local Authority. This work includes taking statements, obtaining evidence and disclosure from other agencies, assisting with the instruction of experts and Counsel, drafting legal documents, and attending PLO family meetings. The sensitive and confidential nature of the work means that a flexible and tactful approach is essential to this role. In conjunction with the team and the relevant stakeholders, it will be your job to represent the Council appropriately in relation to the above matters. There may also be an opportunity to provide legal support in respect of Adult Social Care matters.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

· A basic knowledge of Family Court, Court of Protection and Civil Court Procedures.

· Experience of dealing with the preparation of cases for the Family Court, Court of Protection and Civil Courts to include the preparation of witness statements, court papers and court bundles.

· Familiarity with legal procedures and protocols and court systems

· Ability to be sensitive to the nature of the work undertaken and to ensure client confidentiality
