The role requires 2 days in the officer per week in Warrington
The Housing Needs Officer role within the Place Directorate’s Housing Needs Team is responsible for assessing statutory homelessness applications, delivering proactive prevention and relief services, and managing emergency and temporary accommodation to ensure compliance with legislation such as the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
The position requires strong case management skills, partnership working with statutory and voluntary agencies, and the ability to negotiate sustainable housing solutions while minimizing reliance on temporary accommodation.
Key duties include creating Personalised Housing Plans, supporting out-of-hours homelessness services, maintaining legal compliance, and contributing to service improvement.
The role demands excellent communication, legal knowledge, and IT proficiency, with a focus on cost-effective delivery and continuous professional development.
This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
