We are looking for an experienced Practice Accountant who can hit the ground running, contribute independently, and help us grow. This is not an entry-level training role.

About the Role

As a Practice Accountant at Gold Stag Accounts, you will:

-Prepare and finalise annual accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
-Review and complete self-assessment tax returns
-Handle corporate, personal and partnership tax computations and returns
-Supervise and review work from junior staff
-Deal with HMRC correspondence and compliance
-Maintain required CPD, Money Laundering and GDPR records
-Perform other duties as required


Who You Are

To be successful in this role, you must:

✔ Hold a professional accounting qualification at AAT Level 4 or above
✔ Have at least 2 years’ experience in accountancy practice or relevant industry role
✔ Be highly experienced in reviewing and finalising annual accounts and self-assessments
✔ Be proficient in Microsoft Excel
✔ Be a self-starter with excellent attention to detail
✔ Live in the United Kingdom and have the legal right to work here

Desirable (but not essential):
Experience with FreeAgent, Xero and/or QuickBooks

Note: We will only consider applicants who are based in the UK and eligible to work here. We are not recruiting outsourced roles or candidates based outside the UK.

Location: Fully remote (must be based in the UK with legal right to work)

Hours: Part-time initially, with the potential to move to full-time subject to business needs and candidate preference

Salary: £31,000 – £45,000 pro-rata per annum, depending on experience and qualifications
