About the role
The Collections Storage Facility is part of Collections Management within the Bodleian Libraries, supporting access to Oxford’s library collections through specialist storage, retrieval and delivery services. This role sits within the CSF team based in Swindon.
You will support the day to day operations of the Collections Storage Facility by flexibly carrying out a range of warehouse, retrieval, refiling and delivery tasks in response to customer demand. You will retrieve, process, scan and re-shelve library material, operate manual handling equipment including high and low level order pickers, and support accessioning of new material into the facility. You will also drive the delivery vehicle to transport requested items between Swindon and Oxford, following designated routes and University procedures. You will work safely at all times, following manual handling guidance, wearing personal protective equipment when required, and reporting any equipment faults or incidents promptly. You will contribute to maintaining high standards of collection care and customer service, responding courteously to enquiries and contributing ideas for service improvement.
This is a permanent, full-time position working 36.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 12pm to 8pm.
About You
You will have experience working in a warehouse or similar operational environment and be comfortable working at height and carrying out regular manual handling. You will be able to locate items accurately using numerical sequences and operate manual handling equipment, with training provided where required. You will hold a valid full driving licence and be confident driving a delivery vehicle as part of your role. You will work flexibly, adapting to changing priorities and tasks in response to customer demand, and you will contribute positively as a reliable and supportive team member. You will handle materials with care, demonstrate attention to detail, and have experience providing good customer service. You will also be comfortable using IT systems, including email, and approach your work with a practical and flexible mindset.
