Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Area: Rochdale, Greater Manchester
Start Date: Monday 19th January 2026
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only (Permanent)
Salary: £525 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

We are working alongside a well-established specialist school in Rochdale that offers a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for children and young people aged 11-19 with Autism, ADHD, mild to severe learning difficulties, and associated social, emotional, and mental health needs

About the Teaching Assistant Role
- Support pupils in the classroom through 1:1 and small-group work
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons
- Support pupils with additional needs, building confidence, communication skills, and positive behaviour
- Offer encouragement and motivation throughout the school day, including lessons, activities, and break times
- Act as a consistent and trusted adult, supporting pupils' social and emotional development

What We're Looking For
- Experience working with or mentoring children or young people (education, youth work, sports coaching, volunteering, or similar backgrounds)
- A patient, friendly, and approachable manner with the ability to build strong relationships
- Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent)
- Calm, resilient, and positive, with a good sense of humour
- A genuine commitment to inclusion and helping every pupil reach their potential

To be eligible you must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold (or be willing to apply for) an Enhanced Child Barred List DBS registered with the Update Service
- Provide two professional child-related references
