Summary
We are recruiting an experienced Nursery Deputy Manager / Early Years Deputy Manager to join a well-established day nursery and pre-school in North London (NW2 / NW5).
This role is ideal for an existing Deputy Manager, or a Senior Early Years Practitioner / Room Leader looking to progress into nursery management.
Key responsibilities
Support the Nursery Manager with day-to-day nursery operations
Lead, supervise, and motivate the early years staff team
Ensure full compliance with EYFS, Ofsted inspection framework, safeguarding, and health & safety
Oversee curriculum planning, observations, assessments, and learning journeys
Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) when required
Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies
Cover the Manager role during absence
Requirements
Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above)
Previous experience in a nursery, pre-school, or early years setting
Experience as a Deputy Manager, Room Leader, Senior Practitioner, or Third in Charge preferred
Strong understanding of EYFS statutory framework, Ofsted requirements, and safeguarding
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Legal right to work in the UK
