What skills and experience we're looking for
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated Buildings Supervisor to join our staff team. We are looking for someone who is adaptable and enjoys the daily challenge of working in a school environment. You will need to be a good team player, but confident to work on your own initiative. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and flexible member of staff who will be responsible for the day to day security, safety, cleanliness and general maintenance of our school.
There will be occasions when you will be required to work outside of contractual hours, for example, locking the building after parents evening.
Our Buildings Supervisor will provide a service to the site consisting of security of the premises, lighting, heating, cleaning, maintenance and operation of plant, porterage and handy person duties. They will provide an efficient support service to colleagues and people using the school premises for clubs and other purposes such as events organised by the PTA. They will also be responsible for any other premises related issues.
Previous experience in a similar role is preferable, but not essential, as training and support will be provided.
The need for confidentiality must be adhered to.
The successful applicant will:

• Have a good awareness of Health and Safety, security and hygiene issues
• Ensure high standards of compliance are maintained
• Be highly organised, able to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks
• Be self-directed whilst also able to follow instructions
• Be reliable and trustworthy
• Have good communication skills
• Be able to work effectively as part of a wider team
• Be personable
• Act as a designated on-call key holder providing out of hours and emergency response to alarms if necessary
• Be flexible in working patterns and willing to go the extra mile to ensure the site is maintained to the best possible standard
• Have the ability to adapt to changing and conflicting demands
• Have the ability to prioritise and manage workflow whilst maintaining a flexible approach to respond to urgent requests
