Luma Education Recruitment is working in partnership with a primary school to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SEN team to provide high-quality classroom support, helping pupils to achieve their full potential in a positive and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs (including SEN where required)
Assist with classroom preparation, resources, and displays
Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development
Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Support pupils during activities, transitions, and, where necessary, personal care
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
A good understanding of the primary curriculum
Experience supporting pupils with SEN (desirable)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A patient, caring, and proactive approach
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant – desirable but not essential)
