Summary
Provide assessment, advice and therapy where appropriate to children and young people with hearing impairment with and without EHCPs across Luton Provide intervention and support to those deaf children and young people who attend deaf specialist provisions in the mainstream schools and those who are supported by peripatetic Teachers of the Deaf either in their home environment or in their pre-school or school setting. To provide regular reports on activities and outcomes of interventions to LBC To identify, assess and diagnose communication impairments and select appropriate therapy for effective treatment. To provide written reports and contribute to the EHCP assessment process as required. Contributing to annual reviews/case conferences and meetings as required Make independent decisions about caseload management. Gain extensive clinical experience and expertise to improve and further develop specialist skills through training, support and study Provide second opinions to less experienced colleagues Be responsible for providing ongoing training and advice to the wider Speech and Language Therapy team, school teaching assistants/communicators SENCOs and teachers and volunteers Devise and deliver training to parents as appropriate. Deliver training within the school environment as required. Contribute to the support of newly and recently graduated SLT Staff Measure the impact of the work within the HIP service and provide reporting data as required. Take responsibility for service wide developments as appropriate.
