The Medical Physics department in Portsmouth is an accredited training centre for scientists. There are strong links with Portsmouth, UCL and Surrey universities. The group in which you will work provides opportunities for staff to be involved in national professional groups / working parties and encourages staff to present and publish scientific work in support of their professional development. We can offer the successful candidate the opportunity to undertake the Higher Specialist Scientific Training programme or discuss part-time PhD opportunities. The trust supports flexible-working and part-time working would be considered. Portsmouth is a developing, historic, university seaside city with mild, sunny climate, beaches with many cultural, sporting and leisure amenities. The beautiful countryside of the New Forest, South Downs and Isle of Wight are within easy reach. The city is well connected by road and rail to London and southern England as well as wider connections via the cross-channel ferry port and nearby international airport. The local train station is within easy walking distance of the hospital.
