Optometrist / Practice Manager
Braysher Optometrists – Blaydon, Tyne & Wear
Employment Type: Full-time (part-time considered)
Following the retirement of our long serving optometrist, Braysher Optometrists is seeking a dedicated Optometrist / Practice Manager to join our friendly, community focused independent practice.
Known locally as The Original Blaydon Opticians, our practice dates back to the 1950s—long before the Precinct was built. We are proud of our heritage, our loyal patient base, and our reputation for warm, professional care.

About the Role
You will play a key role in delivering outstanding patient care while ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the practice.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide high quality, patient centred eye examinations
• Manage day to day practice operations
• Lead and support the practice team
• Oversee appointment scheduling, workflow, and customer service
• Ensure compliance with GOC and NHS guidelines
• Support business development, marketing, and community engagement
• Maintain a welcoming, professional environment for patients

About You
• GOC registered Optometrist
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Passionate about patient care and independent practice values
• Organised, proactive, and confident managing a team
• Comfortable using practice management systems and digital tools
