The Locum Consultant in General Medicine will provide senior clinical leadership and high‑quality medical care across acute and general medical services within the Trust. The postholder will deliver expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients admitted under General Medicine, ensuring safe, timely, and evidence‑based treatment in accordance with national guidelines and local policies.
Key responsibilities include leading daily ward rounds, reviewing acutely unwell patients, supporting the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and medical wards, and contributing to the on‑call rota as required. The consultant will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient flow, reduce delays in care, and maintain continuity during periods of increased demand or substantive staff absence.
